    Le RainbowHouse de Bruxelles a rétabli son partenariat avec la RTBF en vue de la Brussels Pride.
    L’an dernier, le partenariat entre l’organisation LGBTQ+ et le diffuseur public wallon avait été suspendu à la suite de la diffusion d’un sketch transphobe, le 24 septembre, dans l’émission satirique Le Grand Cactus sur Tip!k. Ce sketch faisait référence à la chanson 3e sexe du groupe Indochine et au chanteur Rahim Redcar.

    Dans ce segment, l’humoriste belge Damien Gillard et l’humoriste française Cécile Giroud interprétaient une chanson intitulée Le 128e sexe, une parodie du morceau Le 3e sexe. Le numéro se moquait du fait que des personnes transgenres changent de genre et insinuait qu’il existerait plus de deux genres.

    Dans un communiqué publié sur ses réseaux sociaux, RainbowHouse a indiqué qu’elle avait, dans les semaines suivant la diffusion, pris contact avec la RTBF et engagé le dialogue avec elle, en collaboration avec l’Institut pour l’Égalité des Femmes et des Hommes (IEFH) et le Conseil Supérieur de l’Audiovisuel (CSA).

    « Le dialogue entre la RTBF et diverses associations, collectifs et activistes LGBTQIA+ a permis de clarifier les ressentis et réalités des personnes concernées, dès septembre 2024 », peut-on lire dans le message. « Cette rencontre a été marquée par une discussion riche, ouverte et constructive. Nous avons constaté que la RTBF n’avait pas attendu la résolution de cette situation pour renforcer ses efforts de sensibilisation à la diversité — et en particulier aux questions LGBTQIA+. »

    Quelques jours seulement après la diffusion du sketch, les organisations s’étaient déjà réunies une première fois. La RTBF a démontré qu’elle organise depuis 2022 des formations pour ses services internes ainsi que pour l’équipe du Grand Cactus. En collaboration avec Média-Animation asbl et la fédération LGBTQIA+ Prisme, la RTBF a aussi développé une « boîte à outils » pour intégrer les principes de diversité au sein de l’entreprise. Des actions concrètes ont été mises en œuvre : avertissements de contenu sur les réseaux sociaux, émission radio sur les identités trans (Les Clés d’Arnaud Ruyssen), contenus supplémentaires dans la rubrique LGBTQIA+ de la plateforme Tip!k et RTBF Auvio, ainsi que plusieurs clips vidéo et témoignages via RTBF Vews.

     

    Pendant toute cette période, l’IEFH et le CSA ont reçu les dossiers de plainte d’acteurs LGBTQIA+. Chaque organisme les traite de manière indépendante. L’IEFH a déjà formulé plusieurs recommandations, et le rapport final du CSA est attendu dans les prochaines semaines.

  • Brussels RainbowHouse Restores Partnership with RTBF after Uproar over Transphobic Sketch

    RainbowHouse Brussels has reinstated its partnership with RTBF in the run-up to Brussels Pride.
    Last year, the partnership between the LGBTQ+ organization and the Walloon broadcaster was suspended after a transphobic sketch aired on September 24 during the satirical program Le Grand Cactus on Tip!k. The sketch referenced the song 3e sexe by the band Indochine and singer Rahim Redcar.

    In the segment, Belgian comedian Damien Gillard and French comedian Cécile Giroud performed a song titled Le 128e sexe, a parody of Le 3e sexe by Indochine. The song mocked the fact that transgender people change gender and suggested that there are more than two genders.

    In a statement on its social media channels, RainbowHouse said that, in the weeks following the broadcast, it had contacted RTBF and sat down at the table with them, together with the IEFH (Institute for the Equality of Women and Men) and the CSA (High Council for the Audiovisual Sector).

    “The dialogue between RTBF and various associations, collectives, and LGBTQIA+ activists made it possible to clarify the feelings and realities of those involved, starting as early as September 2024,” the statement reads. “This meeting was marked by a rich, open, and constructive discussion. We observed that RTBF did not wait for the resolution of this situation to strengthen its efforts toward awareness around diversity — and especially LGBTQIA+ issues.”

    Just a few days after the sketch aired, the organizations had already met. RTBF showed that since 2022 it has been organizing training sessions for its internal departments and the Le Grand Cactus team. In collaboration with Média-Animation vzw and the LGBTQIA+ federation Prisme, RTBF also developed a “toolkit” to integrate diversity principles into the company. Concrete actions have been taken, such as content warnings on social media, a radio show on trans identities (Les Clés d’Arnaud Ruyssen), additional content in the LGBTQIA+ section of the RTBF Tip!k platform and RTBF Auvio, as well as various video clips and testimonies on RTBF Vews.

     

    During this period, the IEFH and the CSA received complaints from LGBTQIA+ stakeholders. Each institution is processing the files independently. Following these complaints, the IEFH issued several recommendations. The final report from the CSA is expected in the coming weeks.

    Het Brusselse RainbowHouse heeft haar partnerschap met de RTBF in aanloop naar de Brusselse Pride hersteld. Vorig jaar werd het partnerschap tussen de LGBTQ+-organisatie en de Waalse omroep bevroren omdat er op 24 september een transfobe sketch te zien was tijdens het satirische programma Le Grand Cactus op Tip!k. Die sketch verwees naar het lied 3e sexe van de groep Indochine en naar zanger Rahim Redcar.

    In het bewuste fragment brachten de Belgische komiek Damien Gillard en de Franse humoriste Cécile Giroud een lied getiteld Le 128e sexe, een verwijzing naar het nummer Le 3e sexe van de band Indochine. In het nummer drijven ze de spot met het feit dat transgenders van gender veranderen en dat er meer dan één gender bestaat.

    In een mededeling op hun sociale mediakanalen laat het RainbowHouse weten dat het in de weken na de uitzending, samen met het IEFH (Instituut voor de Gelijkheid van Vrouwen en Mannen) en de CSA (Hoge Raad voor de Audiovisuele Sector), contact heeft opgenomen en met de RTBF rond de tafel heeft gezeten.

    “De dialoog tussen de RTBF en verschillende verenigingen, collectieven en LGBTQIA+-activisten maakte het mogelijk om gevoelens en realiteiten van de betrokken personen te verduidelijken, al vanaf september 2024,” zo staat in het bericht te lezen. “Deze ontmoeting werd gekenmerkt door een rijk, open en constructief gesprek. We hebben vastgesteld dat de RTBF niet heeft gewacht op de afloop van deze situatie om haar inspanningen rond bewustmaking over diversiteit — en in het bijzonder rond LGBTQIA+-kwesties — te versterken.”

    Enkele dagen na de uitzending van de sketch zaten de organisaties al een eerste keer samen. Daar toonde de RTBF aan dat ze sinds 2022 opleidingen organiseert voor de verschillende interne diensten, en ook voor het team van Le Grand Cactus. In samenwerking met Média-Animation vzw en de LGBTQIA+-federatie Prisme heeft de RTBF ook een “toolkit” ontwikkeld om de principes van diversiteit binnen het bedrijf te integreren. Er zijn zichtbare acties ondernomen, zoals contentwaarschuwingen op sociale media, een radioshow over transidentiteiten (Les Clés d’Arnaud Ruyssen), extra content in de LGBTQIA+-rubriek van het RTBF Tip!k-platform en RTBF Auvio, evenals meerdere videoclips en getuigenissen via RTBF Vews.

     

    Gedurende deze hele periode ontvingen het IEFH en de CSA de klachtendossiers van LGBTQIA+-actoren. Alle dossiers worden onafhankelijk door elk van de instanties behandeld. Het IEFH formuleerde naar aanleiding van die dossiers meerdere aanbevelingen. Het definitieve verslag van de CSA wordt in de komende weken verwacht.
