• No new season, but a final film for Heartstopper

  The Netflix series Heartstopper will not get a fourth season, but instead a final film. This was announced by the streaming platform and the production company See-Saw Films.

  “Today marks exactly three years since we first met Nick and Charlie on our screens, and we’re excited to announce that their love story will conclude with a film, which will go into production this summer.”

  The film will be based on the upcoming sixth volume of the Heartstopper graphic novel series by Alice Oseman, as well as the novella Nick and Charlie. Although filming is set to begin this summer, Oseman — who is also the executive producer of both the series and the film — is still in the process of writing the final chapter of Nick and Charlie’s story.

  Both Kit Connor and Joe Locke will return one last time as the beloved teenage couple. In an Instagram post, Oseman revealed that the script for the film is already finished, and preparations are currently underway.

  De Netflix-serie Heartstopper krijgt geen vierde seizoen, maar wel een afsluitende film. Dat hebben de streamingdienst en het productiehuis See-Saw Films bekendgemaakt.

   

  “Vandaag is het precies drie jaar geleden dat we voor het eerst kennismaakten met Nick en Charlie op onze schermen, en we zijn dan ook blij om aan te kondigen dat hun liefdesverhaal eindigt met een film, die deze zomer in productie zal gaan.”

  De film zal gebaseerd zijn op het nog te verschijnen zesde hoofdstuk uit de gelijknamige stripreeks van Alice Oseman en op de novelle Nick and Charlie. Ondanks het feit dat de opnames voor de film deze zomer al van start gaan, is Oseman – die ook uitvoerend producent is van zowel de televisiereeks als de film – nog bezig met het schrijven van het laatste hoofdstuk van het liefdesverhaal tussen de tieners Nick en Charlie.

  Zowel Kit Connor als Joe Locke keren nog één laatste keer terug als de twee verliefde tieners. In een post op Instagram laat Oseman weten dat het script voor de film al klaar is, en dat ze inmiddels bezig zijn met de voorbereidingen.
