Loreen replaces controversial Azealia Banks at Milkshake Festival

Loreen will replace Azealia Banks at the Milkshake Festival in Amsterdam. The organization has confirmed the appearance of the two-time Eurovision Song Contest winner.

On Sunday, July 27, Loreen will perform on the Supertoys stage. In February of this year, the festival — which attracts many LGBTQ+ attendees annually — came under fire after it was announced that Azealia Banks would be performing. Banks has made several controversial statements in the past about transgender people and gay men. Following the announcement, many outraged reactions appeared on the festival’s social media channels. Eventually, the organizers admitted they had made a mistake, canceled Banks’ performance, and began looking for a replacement.

That replacement turned out to be Loreen. If you want to see her at Milkshake, you’d better hurry — Sunday, like Saturday, is almost sold out.
